SOS for Artists
‘Inspiring action in the creative and unconventional’
The SOS stands for ‘sorting out shit’ and that’s what I do: I help you sort out your internet shit.
As well as being an artist, I’m also deeply passionate about the internet. The internet feels like home to me – I’ve been online for more than a decade and I understand how things work around here. However, I keep meeting other artists who are intimidated by the internet. Often they have an online presence but they want to get a lot more from it or they know they should have a website but just didn’t know how to start.
I started SOS For Artists to help those people.
My Mission
My mission is to get other artists online and using the internet well. In fact, I want everyone to be rocking the net with their beautiful, authentic selves. Because I love the internet with an unholy passion and think it’s radically changing the world and we can either be left behind or we can grab our chance and ride it like a crazy, unbroken stallion while laughing our heads off.
It would just be so much more fun if you were all online with me and inspiring the world with your awesome art. What are you waiting for?
Testimonials
Kirsty has a fantastic eye for websites. In just 30 minutes, she showed me a whole bunch of ways I could make my site easier to navigate and better constructed to highlight my business offerings. She helped me see that, with three years of content on my blog, I had an opportunity to make the value of those archives more evident to my readers. Kirsty’s not afraid to tell you the rather blunt things you need to know in order to improve – but somehow, in her lovely accent, they sound so nice.

So you’re a tech person?
Hell, no! I’m not a marketing guru either.
I do know a fair amount of technical stuff but my expertise is in the ‘bigger picture’ thinking.
I help creative people create practical and achievable internet strategies that work for them. I’m good at explaining things in ways that artists get. I’m also good at getting people unstuck when they’ve backed themselves into a creative corner. If you’re feeling vague and direction-less, I can point you in the right direction.
Sounds good, what have you got?
At the moment I have two services available – one-on-one bespoke consulting and The Artist’s Eyeball, a written report on your website – but there will be courses and e-books coming within the next 6 months.
If you’re new here, you should also check out the Free Resources page, which contains lots of articles that will help you get the most from the internet.
Do I have to be an artist to work with you?
Not at all – I’ve worked with non-artists and I’m happy to help anyone who feels that they click with me. My latest product, The Artist’s Eyeball is an awesome investment for anyone who has a website that isn’t as shit-hot as they’d like it to be.
Can I work with you offline?
Unless you’re local to Bristol, I prefer to consult with individuals over the internet.
However, I am willing to travel to give talks or workshops to artists’ groups, universities and arts organisations within the UK. Prices vary depending on the project and the distance involved, please contact me for my offline rates.
I’d like to work with you but I’m not ready yet
Not a problem, sign up for my newsletter and I’ll keep you up to date with any offers, new products or services. When you are ready, just get in touch.
Or come and chat to me on Twitter, I’d love to meet you.
