Autumn Morning

It's very definitely autumn now, as evidenced by the first proper mist of the season on Tuesday.

This was the sight that made me run back inside for my camera! Isn't this leaf just incredible - it looks as though it's been gilded or sprayed with gold paint but it's completely natural.

The spiders really pull out all the stops at this time of year. I am always astounded when I go out in the morning to find metres of silk spanning entire corners of the garden - how do they even do that?

  1. Beautiful. Spider webs always amaze me.
Fall is my favorite season- but it's something I've sorely missed since moving to semi-tropical climes many years ago. The next best thing is seeing photos like these- I can almost feel the cool crisp air.
Thanks for sharing these wonders of nature.

    1. I'm glad you like them, Stephanie. It was so crisp and autumnal; I enjoyed getting out and breathing the cold air deep into my lungs. Mind you, we've not had any seriously cold mornings yet. Even in the winter, it doesn't usually get too bad here - we're in the mild wet south west of England, we rarely get the bitterly cold winter weather that I grew up with in Scotland.
